Privacy Policy for Lux Meter Tools

Scope

This policy describes how the current Android application, Lux Meter Tools, handles information when you measure ambient light, record sessions, review measurements, and export records.

Data Access and Local Storage

The app accesses your device’s ambient-light sensor while the app is active. It processes illuminance readings and timestamps to display live measurements and charts. Sensor monitoring pauses when the app becomes inactive; inactive periods appear as gaps in recordings.

The app also reads sensor information, including sensor name, vendor, version, range, resolution, power requirements, reporting mode, and reported accuracy, to display sensor details.

When you record measurements or capture reference snapshots, the app stores session records locally in its private Android app storage. Records include session identifiers, start and end times, sample timestamps, elapsed times, lux readings, reference markers, recording segments, and any titles, manual location labels, or notes you enter. An unfinished recording is saved locally so it can be recovered after interruption. Display preferences are also stored locally.

Location labels are text you enter yourself. The app does not access GPS or track your geographic location. Titles and notes may contain personal information if you choose to enter it.

Purposes

The app uses this information to provide live readings, charts, reference snapshots, recording recovery, session statistics, searches, comparisons, CSV exports, and your preferred display settings. These operations take place on your device. No account is required.

Collection, Sharing, and Third-Party Software

The current application does not send measurement records or other app data to developer-operated servers. It has no implemented advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting service, and no SDKs for those services are identified in its declared dependencies. It uses Android and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose components to provide its functionality.

The Android application declares Internet permission, but the current measurement and recording features do not implement network transfers. The app does not provide its own cloud synchronization service.

Exports and Android Backup

You can export selected saved sessions as CSV files through Android’s document picker. Exported files include session identifiers, titles, location labels, timestamps with time-zone information, elapsed times, lux readings, reference markers, recording segments, and notes.

You choose the destination. If you select a cloud-backed document provider, that provider may receive and store the exported information under its own privacy practices. Exported files are outside the app’s private storage and remain under your control and the control of any destination or recipient you choose.

Android backup is enabled for the app. Depending on your device, Android version, and backup settings, app data may be included in operating-system backups or device transfers. These services operate separately from the app and are governed by the relevant provider’s practices and your settings.

Security

Session records and preferences use Android’s private app storage, which ordinarily restricts access by other apps. The current implementation does not add its own encryption to stored records or exported CSV files. Protection also depends on your device security, operating system, backup settings, and export destination. No storage or security method can guarantee complete protection.

The app does not implement a server connection for measurement data, so encryption in transit does not apply to that local processing. Transfers performed by a backup service or an export destination depend on that service.

Retention and Deletion

Saved sessions, unfinished recordings, and preferences remain locally until you remove them or clear the app’s data. There is no automatic time-based deletion schedule in the current implementation.

You can delete a saved session from its details screen or discard the current recording. You can remove locally stored app records and preferences through Android’s app-storage controls. Uninstalling the app generally removes its private local storage.

Deleting data in the app does not delete exported CSV files, copies held by recipients, or operating-system backups. Manage those copies through the relevant file location, provider, or backup settings; restored backups may restore previously saved app data.

For privacy or deletion questions, contact contact@azbruktov.online. The developer does not receive the locally stored measurement archive through the app and cannot remotely delete records from your device. If you contact the developer by email, the information you include is provided through your email service. A specific retention period for support correspondence has not been established in the available information.

Children’s Privacy

Lux Meter Tools is an ambient-light measurement utility. A specific intended age range has not been established in the available information. The current app has no accounts, advertising, or developer-operated collection of children’s personal information. Information entered in titles, location labels, or notes is handled locally as described above and may be included in exports or Android backups. Contact the privacy email with concerns about a child’s information.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or its data practices. Review the version made available with the app’s listing for changes.
